would it be better to use protein 1gram per lean body weight,instead of 1gram per body weight . example 240lbs body weight with 240grams of protein or 210lbs lean body weight with 210grams of protein. my goal is lose fat and still gain muscle. :confused:

But try not to be a quibbler because this is a recipe for failure. I mean, if you are going to follow any nutritional program for a serious amount of time, you will come to a point where a few more or less protein grams won't be that important. Otherwise, failure to ingest an exact number of protein grams may prove detrimental to your long term goals.

Guessing your lean body weight is a tad difficult. Being at around 18% bodyfat and 193.5 lbs I would guess my lean body weight is 172 considering a good 15-20 lbs of that 34 lbs is not all fat, there's organs, brain and bones to consider, but I don't always make it to 175g of protein, sometimes 150 and sometimes 190. Which is good because I can be sure my lean weight is somewhere in there.
