Protein

I am just curious how much everyone on here tries to consume. I have seen several different "rules" for protein.

Please post your amount of protein grams you try to comsume and your weight.

I currently weight about 212 and have been getting around 225-250 grams of protein in the first 24 hours after my workout. The next 24 hours is closer to 200 grams.

How does that sound? Not high enough, then how much. Should it be concistant everyday or higher the first 24 hours after WO?

Depends what your immediate and medium-term goals are.

I'm bulking (went from 158 to 176 in about 2 months), and will now start to cut a little. During the bulk, I was on 4000-4400 cal/day, with about 40% of those coming from protein. 400g/day, roughly. But when I cut, I'll whittle that down to about 250-300. Bulking was about 40/45/15 @ 4000-4400/day, and now I'll do about 35/50/15 at 3000-3500/day.

So for you, at 212, 250 minght be fine if you cutting or maintaining at a lower bf%, but it's hard to say what you need or what's too much/little without knowing where you want to be in 3/6/12 months.

Oh, and one more thing. Yes, you should keep your protein consistent every day. I wouldn't take in any more or less on off days.

I might have fewer total feedings on workout days (no post-wo shake), but I make up for it in the other 7 meals.

On high protein days I usually go with approx 400 g, on low protein days 150g.

On hyperdiet(bulk) I always have high protein intake, on hypodiet(cut) I go 3 high /3 low.

I hear guys talk about the high/low protein days during cutting, but more often about cycling carbs. Have you finished a cutting cycle while doing a high/low protein phase already? How did that work for you? Did you alternately cycle carbs simultaneously to balance the caloric intake, or were the low protein days lower in cals, too?

I'm just ending a bulk, and was planning on cutting via carb cycling and general caloric reduction, but am interested in alternatives that people have actually tried.
Thanks.

400g of protein? How do you get so much protein? Doesn't that cause a lot of diahrea?

.8-1.2 grams per pound of body weight - usually end up around 150g ...that's when bulking

During SD I strive more for the 1.0 g per pound...
