In another body building forum there is alot of talk about seperating carbs from fat in one meal as a general rule. The reason given is that when you take in certain carbs, you can spike your insulin levels. If you are taking in fats when your insulin has been spiked, you are allowing for a higher propensity for fat storage.

The dietary suggestions for cutting are usually either protein/carb meals or protein/fat meals with protein being crucial for every meal (which makes sense). Also,a near unanimous reccommendation is that the bulk of your carbs come in the pre and post workout meals.

Are these suggestions sound?

seperating carbs from fat wont make much of a difference, most of hte people recommending it are basing it on a stupid premise

Won't make much of a difference, Aaron? Does this mean the idea of seperating carbs and fats has some merit?

There's nothing sensible about having protein in every meal, unless your meals are spread thin and you use quick digesting proteins, such as whey or soy. Even then, total caloric intake is really going to drive progress. The only issue would be lacking protein when there's a high level of activity present.

The only good thing they mentioned was placing carbs about your workout. Get in a lot of your carbs around training. It will help prevent any of the excess from going to the gut. Even still, daily caloric intake is the biggest factor. This is just something that will help a little.
