The greatest bodybuilder ever in my book. Kevin is awesome. He had the best arms and shoulders in history... An unbelievable physique! Also he was strong as the hulk... Overhead pressing 405 for reps, bench press 495 for reps, leg press 1500 for reps....one of the greatest bodybuilders and one of the greatest bodybuilding videos ever... This video was shot just before he took 2nd place in the Mr Olympia 2000 (Ronnie Coleman won, but I think Kevin was better)

He was awesome. Always one of my favorites. If I remember correctly there was some chatter that he may have a myostatin gene inhibition/mutation of some kind. Anyone know if there is any truth to that?

I doubt it. Since he went natural, he's way smaller than he used to be. If he was a myostatin mutant he would still be giant as a natural. He just has fantastic genetics, long muscle bellies, great bone structure, etc.

+ he responds well to steroids, which not all genetically gifted (long muscle bellies, great bone structure, etc) bodybuilders do. You could of course argue that responding well to steroids is a genetic gift as well....

It certainly is (liver processing ability).

Yeah, Kevin is a crazy androgen responder for sure. Most guys get huge in the off-season, then they cut down for a show. Kevin would actually shrink in the off-season, and then gain a bunch of muscle with no fat gain while he was bulking for a show.

A lot of pros start using steroids early on as well. Bro rules are not to start using until you are 24 but most of the really big guys were clearly using in their teens and early 20s when you see pictures of them before they got their pro cards.

If it were legal and affordable, I'd like to get on the juice for a year, just to see what level I could take it too... I still have some gains to go naturally though, just slow and steady.

It's certainly legal if you find the right doctor and/or endocrinologist.

It is only legal to use certain steroids for certain medical conditions. You could go on TRT if your T levels are low, but there aren't any legitimate doctors that I'm aware of that will prescribe doses that would put you over the top of normal range. The only other steroid I'm aware of that could be prescribed legally is Deca and I believe you need to have wasting disease for that to be prescribed. Tren and the others, as far as I'm aware, are illegal for human use.

To be clear, I'm not encouraging illegal actions. But it isn't especially difficult to find a doctor who will get you the script.

I'm just kidding around. WAY too complicated for me to deal with, legally, financially and physiologically. I am happy as a natural, it's much simpler.
