    I agree with Totentanz. I would never lower the weight on a work set. I just cluster the reps.

    I think the second example is the way to go. The first has too much of a drop in weight. My best cycles have always been where I avoided zig-zagging. I think it's best to keep the load as high as you can.

    Squats

    I started with about 415x5 and hit 500x5 in about a year. However, they were parallel, not olympic squats. I started doing olympic squats last cycle and I'm at 320x5 and 360x1. I tried something different this last cycle with my deadlifts. Instead of stopping at 15, I'd continue until 1-2 reps...

    Alternate the deadlift with the squat, Monday and Friday squat and deadlift on Wed. You wrote you loved deadlifts; just curious, what kind of weight are you pulling?

    Stretch Marks

    Grow slower, cut your calories a little bit. I don't care much about them, they lighten up, they don't stay red. I had a few new ones after this last cycle, especially where the lats go into the armpit.

    yeah, at the gym I go to I have to stand on a wooden platform to reach the chin bar. I also use a chair to get me to the top position.

    your results with HST...

    Taking an SD after my 6th cycle, started HST November 04. Starting weight was 174.5 and is now 227. Going to start a 5x5 strength routine Monday and lose some of the fat. Strength gains were actually decent, some of my numbers are: deadlift: 500x1 bent row: 310x1 dips: 110+BW x 5 chins: 60+bwx5

    You don't need a partner for dips and chins. Also, if you are doing presses, you can push press the weight up and do neg's.

    Forget the lateral raises and hit only compounds with a barbell, that will allow you to use the most weight for each body part. Do squats, deadlifts, bench, bent row, dips, chins, power cleans and standing presses. A lot of people split them into A & B workouts i.e., A: squats, bench, row...
