Hello, after a skateboarding accident back in the late 80's have cause my recent weight lifting to be a small nightmare. I only recently started lifting weights and one of my ligaments in my left elbow is moving back and forth when I do "push type" exercises(bench and military press).

I am taking GNC Glucosamine Sulfate, in hopes of repairing this connective tissue. Is there any particular type or brand of supplement/medication that any of you had success with?

Thanks,

Stan

Bryan can probably adrress this better, but the Glucosamine/Chondroitin and the 15 rep microcycle should help him out. I have heard of something called Wobenzyme(??) I don't know much about it though.

I went to see an orthopedic doctor, and got x-rays to be sure there is no bone fragments from my injury. No bone fragments. I will be going to a bone and joint specialist(pediatric and adult orthopedic specialist) to figure out more about it.

The orthopedic doctor said I have subluxation of the ulnar collateral ligament.

The specialist is also a surgeon, so I may have to see if surgery is my only option.

Believe it or not, ipriflavone may really help if you need actual tendon effects. Ipriflavone decreases catabolism of collagen proteins which, over time should help to strengthen tendons/ligaments.

It is important to remember that your problem may not be the strength of your tendons or ligaments, but the length of them. Sometimes injuries can altern the length of ligaments and tendons, causing laxicity (looseness) in the joint. Sometimes this is called subluxation. You can't fix this without surgery to shorten the ligaments.

Scar tissue can also cause pain where a tendon slides against the surface of a joint or bone.

Glucosamine and chondroitin deal primarily with cartilage.
