We here generally believe you don't need to hit a single muscle from different angles, considering the tricep is 3 muscles not 1 etc.
Well we thought the deltoids were a group of 3 muscles which they are but how does them having seven segments rather than 3 change things?
Should we train them as though they are 3 muscles or 7?

When doing rear delt flyes, having thumbs up or thumbs down seems to hit my shoulder different and it makes me wonder if we should treat them as 7 muscles.
I am hoping someone who knows a bit more about the subject can clear things up, this almost goes a bit beyond weight training.
