Is it okay to have fats in the pre workout meal? just not in the post workout meal?
I think it's okay either way, just that your body uses carbohydrates (then protein, then fat) after a workout.
Mono and poly unsaturated are fine within reason before training.
If you are from the Kraemer camp, you would faint at the thought of consuming fat before exercise because it can reduce the amount of lactate produced in your cells and thus reduce the GH spurt that can happen while training.
If you are from a more rational camp, you feel that the miniscule spikes in GH do nothing for actual muscle growth, so, having some fat in your pre-workout drink is no problem.
Are fats bad in the post-workout drink?
Not in my opinion.
why not just take growth hormone and then drink whatever you want? just kidding. I enjoyed seeing that 'the rational camp statement' as if lets me know that bryan makes good the distinction between what happens in a test tube and what makes an impact on real world training.
two tbspn of Flax oil, no carbs, no protein, always threw off serious body heat for me..
