After reading Lyle's research review, I'm wondering why do you recommend against HFCS?
 
I recommend against eating foods with high fructose corn syrup for the reasons quoted in your post. In addition, I'm not sure that foods that contain lots of HFCS are good for you anyway. I prefer fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats as the basis of a healthy diet.
