Six days ago, I started an Intermittent Fasting diet (16 hours fasting / 8 hours feasting). For the first week or so I was planning on eating whatever I wanted with the sole focus of getting used to the eating schedule and later switching to a Paleo-ish diet. Yesterday, I ate a footlong meatball sub for my first meal and I felt like HELL afterwards. I've never had blood sugar or insulin issues, so I don't know if that's what the feeling was, but I'm thinking that the bread caused it. Later that night I had roast beef and mashed potatoes and the feeling worsened. Today, I had roast beef (left-overs) and 4 clementines for my first meal and felt fine. I've read that I.F. can increase insulin sensitivity. Could the high G.I. of the bread and mashed potatoes have caused this? I really want to give I.F. a fair chance; according to my scale, which supposedly measures BF%, I've lost fat and gained a little bit of muscle. If anyone has any insight I would really appreciate it! Thank you all so much!
