Is this crazy?

So what would happen if I ate my surplus calories in the 24 hour period after my workout, and ate my deficit calories during the 24 hours before the next one?
 
You might see some recomp with that sort of a scheme. However, remember that growth does occur outside of that 24 hour window even if protein synthesis isn't raised. Lack of calories might slow recovery, etc. I would prefer to see you do maintenance or a very small deficit on the off time if you are going to do that.
 
I changed to something like. I'm eating a bigger surplus 24h after workout and maintenance cals the following 14h. It seems to be working well. In my case maintenance is around 3000 cals so I'm doing 4000 on w/o days and 3000 the other.
