Managing Fatigue

Hello fellow HST'ers,

I have been doing a lot of cardio lately. Swimming Wednesdays and Fridays, running monday tuesday thursday and saturday. Averaging 25-30 miles a week during the running and 3km a week swimming.

It is hard to find the energy right now to do my 15's. Ive been getting a workout in every 2-3 days instead of every other. I dont think that when I hit the 10's I will have the energy to do 2 sets of 10's.

Does anyone see a problem with doing only 1 set of 10's and 5's to help manage fatigue. I am also currently doing a bulk cycle. Hoping to gain 8-10 lbs before February then cut off some fat before the triathlon season begins in June. I will still be increasing the load every workout; progressive load is King.

Summary of what I need to know:
Do you think that by over eating and only doing one set I will be compromising a good partition ratio of muscle to fat?

That really depends on your specific routine and how much volume you need, but hey, why not try it and see? It's only two weeks, it won't make or break your entire cycle.

If you have a lot of exercises, I would suggest considering some consolidation down to what is vital and keep it at 2 sets instead.

TBH mate marathon runners look like they do because they do lots of cardio, bbrs look like they do because they do lots of weights, different fibres are being used for each, you cant do both and look like either one,you will be somewhere inbetween.

IMO to gain anything doing a lot of cardio you are going to have to eat a lot more than you are now.
