thanks for reading, I have made some pretty dang good gains so far, about 10-15lbs in 1 cycle but I wonder about my intensity.

I read one of vicious's post stating that once you cant sustain the same rep speed you are close to failure and should stop, but I'm too stubborn/stupid to do so. I avouded failure in the 15's and the 1st week of the 10's but from then on my last 1-2 reps of most exercises would be a massive struggle. Not exactly failure as I could almost always lift it, but I would be growling and spitting (while remembering to breath) and straining to get the weight up.

I almost never feel sore the next day, and my strength is slowly increasing. I was wondering about maybe working to failure once a week just before my 2 day rest.

I was also wondering if anyone else is alot stronger on the second set of their exercises?

Don't forget that the purpose of avoiding failure is to ensure that the recovery of our strength from workout to workout doesn't become the limiting factor.

If you set up your weights before oyu began your cycle, you shouldn't run into failure issues unless you are doing multiple sets.

If you go to failure frequently and have no problem recovering your strength from workout to workout this is a non-issue.

Going to failure once per week because you have longer to recover is just fine...as long as you really do recover. :)
