Shoulders More than chest

Through my last couple years training my chest has always lagged, I think i have found the reason why.. Whenever i do a chest exercise i always find that my shoulders burn more than my chest does, or I get somewhat of an awkward pain. I've tried moving to wide grip bench techniques but that hasnt really worked. I think my strength ratio is off, for example my 5rep max for incline bench is 65lb db's, while my 5rep max for military press if 55lb db's. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated
 
i have switched from bb bench press to db bench press,and i find this hits my chest better.bb benches tended to hit my shoulders more.
