Upper Lower Splits

Ok...I think we have studies that don't show the benefits of 3 days training frequency over 2 days training frequency.

So if sufficient Calories were been taken in.

Would and upper lower split be better b/c it would allow you to use slightly higher volume per muscle group with some rest inbetween?
 
are you talking about 6 days a wk upper lower so each bodypart gets trained 3 times,if you are then yes you can get more volume but you have to be carfull how much,
even though certain muscles are getting rested on a and b days your CNS can still get burned out so plan it carefully.

Sorry let me clarify.

two days a week training.

Monday upper
Tuesday lower
Wendseday rest
Thursday upper
Friday lower

Sat and Sunday Rest

HSt style for training a bodypart 3 times a week.

Looks like chest 3 sets of 10 reps 3 times a week.

9 total sets for the week. But only 1 day of rest between workouts.

Would it be better to get in 12 sets a week 6 sets on one day 6 sets on 2nd day and have more rest between muscle groups???

More sets sometimes equals more growth???

I know I am getting away from frequency some...but I am increasing sets.

Try it, it should work fine, as it is not grossly violating any principles. The volume is excessive for conventional HST, and the frequency is somewhat lowered, but the only way to know is to do it for a few weeks/months.
