what is a better exercise than barbell curls?

    out of the 8 exercises I have its the only one I don't really like.

    when i start going heavy it feels not good on my elbows

    also I am not really sure of its value.

    if its a good one ill stick with it, but wondering if there is not something better

    maybe seated barbell curls at the very least? never tried them but it seem like it could be better, harder to cheat as no body swinging, and no straight arms which hurts my elbows at higher weights?

  2. Many folks have elbow pain doing curls with heavy loads. Be sure your form is good and your hand position is appropriate on the bar. You can pretty much find a way to cheat at almost any exercise, so be sure you know the true/proper form first.

    In no particular order:

    chin ups

    cable supine curl

    DB Curl

    Seated DB curl

    One exercise that I like, and incorporate into my program now and again is "Drag Curls" It might be worth giving it a go. Because the elbows aren't in a fixed position, it may be slightly easier on the joint. It also gives the forearms a good workout too.

    Dont go heavy. Heavy weighted chins with supinated grip gives by far and away the best bicep workout imo
