Wrist Pain

Well, I've gotten to the point in this cycle where I was doing dips (on the seated machine) at 230+ lbs, all the way up to 270 on my last day! The problem with this heavy load was that my wrists took a beating.

Are there any type of braces or straps I should wear? Is there anyway to avoid this pain because I don't want that affecting my joints and the effort I put into the exercise.

Oh, and the pain isn't lingering, only for a minute or two after I am done with the dips.

I have never used the seated machine for dips, I use a dip rack and I've never had any pain. maybe it's the machine, are your wrists straight or do you bend them? bending them away from you body will put more stress on them.
