A New Idea About Hst?

I'd guess you should be able to add 2.5kg to your max in 8 weeks even with just doing a single rep per workout. I'd also imagine you could probably put on 10kg on your max if you trained properly but whatevs.

I've trained properly for years, but not been able to put on a single kg...

That's why I try different things.

I cannot see how if you have trained for years that you have not increased the load on the bar, even if you started at 60 I would expect an increase in loads lifted even if it is a minor increase, I am still gaining strength at 51 after resuming training nearly 5 years ago, granted I am not as strong on upper body exercises as I was when I stopped in my early thirties but that would be expected after a 12 or so year break.

I mean this in all sincerity, I hope your plan works.

If it doesn't though, don't give up. Come back to this thread and start asking some questions, get some feedback, follow the advice (even if it doesn't make sense at the time) and you will make improvements. If you're open to feedback at this point I would suggest you post some videos of yourself lifting, an example of your daily diet, your sleep schedule and your workout.

Again, good luck.

Update

I put this program on the shelf due to external circumstances.
I didn't notice any signs that it would work.
I currently use a more common program.

Thanks for everyones input.

It was not an alteration of HST. If I had to put a label on it, it would likely be the "Lazy Man's Way to Staying Unfit."

It was a small variation/alteration, almost the same as HST, just a different rep range.

Kind of a "Hard working man's effort to get results".

Now let's not waste time discussing this anymore since no one here seems to be able to think outside the box/understanding alterations/variations.

M is at a table eating a plate of macaroni and cheese. J approaches.

J: "Hey man, what's that you're eating?"

M: "Spaghetti."

J: "Looks like mac and cheese."

M: "It's spaghetti! I just made a few minor alterations. Jeez, can't you think outside of the box?"

You people seriously don't get this...?

I guess I'm wasting my time.

I guess it's pointless to tell about the results of my current program.

By the way, Totentanz, "J" has a sight impairment...

I think you already told us how well it worked.

I said "My current program". It's not the program discussed in this thread...
I've already used my new program for several weeks.
But of course I know that you would trash my progress with this program
in the same spirit as usual.

I don't think anyone is trying to be intentionally malicious, it's just that you've been told what is known to work. You chose to ignore that and basically claim that HST is doesn't work, even though you haven't actually (it would seem) tried to use the program properly. People tend to get a little annoyed when they take the time to give advice only to be ignored.
