Being is growing...hahaha. Time to cut soon. Once I hit 158ish I'm gonna turn around and light the catabolic blaze.

Congratulations! Growing is nice, but don't go by weight alone. Get out the calipers and determine your body fat percentage. That's the big one!

You're right TR. I need to get calipers. I've avoided it because I feel like there's so much variation in measurements when one is doing their own measuring that I may get me into a neurotic frenzy

I like averaging weights based on morning weigh ins where there is at least some regularity of conditions and 'objectivity.' of course that tells you nothing about LBM/Fat ratios, but I'm assuming I'm pretty normal and things are coming on 50/50 anyway. Nothing terribly bad or good.

If you haven't used one before, you'll find that you can get pretty consistent readings once you have used a calliper a few times. The scale on mine is not brilliant but I can take a reading to the nearest mm (and possibly a bit better than that). That makes relative readings quite meaningful but you won't know how absolutely accurate you're calliper is. Taking three or more readings per site shows up any spurious readings.

you could just stick with the basic measurements using a tape.

gaining wgt is a sure sign your growing and an accurate bf% will tell you how its being partitioned.......provided you trust your (or someones) measurements. the tape on the other hand can always tell the story. make sure you note what you measr. and exactly where (waist at navel or chest expanded @nipples, arm flexed @peak etc.). for men the 1st place fat goes is typically the waist area so that can tell you quite a bit when it comes to fat gain.

i realize your on the long, slow gain the beef without the fat plan but it wont be worth keeping the waist measr. low if you dont see any progress with the other "muscle" measurements, arms, legs, chest, calves etc.

good luck
