Wave 3 - week 1


Landmine press -

Bench press - 40kgx5, 65kgx10,10,10,10,10

Chins - BWx5, 5kgx10,10,10,10,10 (mixed grips)

Hammer curl - 20kgx7, 15kgx12

Triceps push down - 5x12, 6x10


Feelt weak today for some reason. Could have something to do with the hundred beers I had on the weekend. Only just recovered (hardly ever drink these days)

Supersetted the chins with the bench BBB, all sets unbroken. Did not feel like doing dips today, so I choose the easier option - push downs.

Just not feeling it this week. I've been a bit sloppy with my meals as well. A bit disapointed with the dl, same reps as with 165 last time. Ah well, there's alsways tomorrow.

Supersetted the chins with the bench bbb. All sets unbroken which suprised me as I increased the weight on the chins. Increased slightly on the shrugs as well. Felt good, and I did them as O&G prescribed in another thread, with almost like a secondary shrug in the top position. Made a big difference.

Good quick training session. All lifts felt good. I think I'm on track for a DL pr next week with 180kg. Fingers crossed. After all the talk this week about lifting shoes on these forums, I will look into getting hold of some flat soled shoes. I've always just used my old running shoes for everything. Might be time for an upgrade.
 
Hahaha nah mate, no bs. Last two weren't pretty but they got up there. Next week will be 180kg which marks the end of this Wendler challenge. I've only ever done a single with 180 so hoping for a bit more.
 
Oh I believe you, that's my point, I don't need that kind of excellence around here being rubbed in my face :p

10 x 170kg is a really good bit of deadlifting. All the best with 180. Eat like a horse and you might get close to 10 reps with that too. That'll be awesome.

Yeah I'm about to finish up the three month BBB challenge. Quite enjoyed so far.

Today

Just some random kb swings and some ol practice. Haven't done any clean / pc or snatch work for ages. I was under the watchful eye of an instructor at work. A bit of fun. Lower back is a bit tender today too.
 
Don't be surprised if better shoes or just not using shoes at all adds a small amount to your deadlift.

I'll be sure to try my BBB DL this week without shoes. Will be interesting to see the difference.

Trained at work this morning. The landmine rows are destroying my lats, in a good way. Can really feel them working.

Squat is progressing very slowly, although, it's on track. High rep dl is nasty for the skin on my fingertips. They're red raw and almost feel like they are pulsating!

DL went well. Only one rep less than with 170kg last week. I filmed it on the ipad, form was solid throughout. Body felt like a train wreck after, so I cut the bbb squat short at 3 sets.

Yes, there were errors for a few days straight. Looks like it is all sorted now. I'm just a mod, I don't have any admin rights so I can't fix that kind of stuff when it happens.
