I see frequent references to loaded stretches. I'm wondering what they are, how and why they're useful, and how and at what stage I might incorporate them into my training.

Anyone care to elaborate?

Loaded stretches, like some other techniques, basically boosts mechanical strain beyond what is normally accomplished with normal training. By increasing strain, it accelerates real hypertrophy in the area.

LS is a static hold at a point of extreme muscle stretch for a long time. Most LSs are performed with movements like skullcrushers, DB flies, or flat/incline bench bicep curls, all particularly accentuated for stretch.

The Customizing thread has a lengthy section covering how to use this in HST. Page 2? :)

cheers,
Jules
