Pictures everyone?

Based on your pictures last year sniggel (when you were fatter) I am very impressed. You leaned down alot and managed to keep most of your muscle mass. I think you have room to get even bigger and I know you most likey will!

I would say deltoids are your biggest strength, but the legs need some work. Overall, great work!

Not only that, but most people when they step on stage for the first time, heck even the first few times, look like total crap compared to how they look after they have some experience with it under their belt. A good example is Sporto on bodyrecomposition.com. How many shows did he do before he finally got himself dialed in just right this year to take first place? Quite a few.

So yeah, you looked great, but I'm sure if you return to the stage next year, you'll be in even greater condition.

Quad: LOL, my precious..

Thanks for all the feedback.
About the legs, yes I would not mind having more mass on them (ehm, I mean I would love for them to get a lot bigger

). And I agree they look smaller when leaned down. I also lost most of my strength on squats so its possible I lost most muscle mass there. But still. Right now, training is going f-ing great. I am soon setting new personal bests, and at a lower bodyweigth than before so I am planning on improving, big time!

I will step on stage again, but I will have at least 1 year of training and eating before I do that. I will not allow myself to go on stage without improving my strength beyond my previous best by around 15%.
That would be 480 pound deadlift, 380 pound squat, 315 pound bench so thats probably 2 years

Sniggel, congrats on your dedication and contest prep mate. How did you handle the last week up to the show? Did you sodium deplete and carb load etc? I have no doubt you will reach your target loads before you next hit the stage. A whole bunch of us here are striving for 500lb deadlifts so you might as well join in. Let the fray begin!

Yes i did both sodium deplete and carb deplete/load. I think I semi-screwed it up because I was in slightly better shape the day before contest. Its hard to know how you react to things the first time. But experience will make me do it better in the future.

By the way, I don't know if you had anyone to help or not, but there are a few guys who post regularly on Lyle's site that know a lot about contest prep and especially on peaking during the competition. Blade, for instance, is a well-known authority on the subject.
You might try seeking some advice there about it.

I have had a LOT of input from many experienced guys and they all say different things, lol.
I do suspect some of the errors I made and I will try not to do them the next time around. We all work a bit differently and I have all the info on how you can do it, now I just need to find out which parts work best for me.

Excellent work Snig.

My critique...slight more work on legs for size...and lats (width), overall very good for a stage starter.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks. Yeah, my arms are at their biggest ever (16") and yet I am only 196 lbs. The last time my arms were 16" I was 205+, so I have definitely made some lean mass improvement.

Very kind of you, but I still have some years to go to get your size. (and strength)

One thing I have learned is that natural bodybuilding takes a very long time, like the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady wins the race.

Nice progress. You can definitely see some changes. That's what this game is all about though - progressive improvement.
