Wungun's Lifting And Eating Log

Still zeroing in on my "maintenance +bulk" calories... Went up 2lbs in 1st week.
I'd like to think it's from 3500cal over maintenance AND 1lbs of muscle. But not likely...
2700 should still put me over maintenance... I'll see after I collect some more data over the coming days.

You want to aim for 1.5lb-2lb a week, preferably. Obviously it's not going to be anywhere close to all muscle but you want to be sure that the number on the scale is going up consistently. That's one of the things I had trouble with for a while, and I still do. But don't worry about the fat gain as long as you're not aiming for anything more than 2lb a week. You're only like 155lb at 6'1". You have a lot of room to grow.

That would be assuming you didn't put any muscle on by the time you get to 177lb. Save the "optimum leanness" for later. Right now your goal should be to put on mass and get away from the novice numbers, and the latter should come real fast. You don't need to go insane with the calories but you need a consistent weight gain each week and anything less than a pound isn't going to cut it because there's always variability at any moment you're weighing yourself. Water retention, sweating, food concentration, foot swelling, doodoo. It all can add up.

Good point about the variation... I totally wasn't thinking of that with regards to steady, consistent mass building. Thanks...
Maybe ramp back up to 3000 cal again... In a couple of days.

What I meant was, as low a body fat % as I'd likely ever want to go... Despite how big or small my frame is (lean mass).
I'd be totally happy with 165, maybe 170lbs LBM. (Or single digit %)

If you were given a magic choice of instant 70kgs at 10% or 100kgs 10%, I guarantee you that you're choosing the latter.

Today's weight: 158.8 (-0.8lbs) (1.2lbs)
Maybe back up to 3000cal?!

First day of 5's...
Note: Little to no overlap on some exercises.
Targeted 20 Rep clusters and added more sets.
Weighted dips maybe straining my left shoulder a little too much... Might have to dial those back.
Total volume today (according to app) over 20,000lbs... Highest ever!

More!!

Or maybe it is time to eat more of the calories during the day? 500-700 to me is not a lot, I have 610 every day for breakfast at 7:15am!!!

Must be the CBL working, cause I don't have worms! Lol
Ate over 400+ to 600+ for lunch the last few days.

I'm off the Champix now, but it'll take awhile for everything to settle down.
Still sleeping like shit... But I don't lack for energy during the day (on a mostly empty stomach til late afternoon)

Yeah, nothing before training other than what you see in lunch. Protien supp is usually 30 to 60 minutes prior to workout.

Just for reference I currently consume over 1500 during the day / pre evening workout (30g carbs) with near 2000 after with no protein supplements or creatine (under doctors orders, another blood test required for borderline renal function)

You're also over 40lbs heavier than I am, no...? I am still sticking closely to CBL protocols...and 2000 to 2500cal post workout .
And there is good amount, on occasion, that is heavy calories... Pies, tarts, nachos, beer, etc.

I haven't been taking as much water as I have been prior to bulk... But at the same time, pretty inconsistent with daily intake.
