had a couple exams today, so I truncated cardio. plus I didn't run at all yesterday. probably a psychological thing, but my knees felt tight today during squats.

hopefully I can make up Weds' workout tomorrow and get some good cardio done too.

I did my first 10 reps of deads as a set w/ ~ 5 secs of m time. took a bit longer than 5 secs to add a 10# plate to each side for the last 2 reps, but not much.

for the reps w/ 365 &amp; 375, I took ~ 30 secs between reps.

My back is brutally sore from rowing! Felt good today overall. I'd like my numbers to be a bit higher. But I'm injury free and that was my main goal of the cycle to this point.

My shoulders, lats, and neck felt a bit tight so I did more sets of face pulls than normal.

Also, I've been bouncing a medicine ball (8 kg) about as hard as possible. Fully extended on my tip toes (arms in the air) and bouncing that sucker as hard as possible. Feels great for a warm-up.
 
Do you ever find that your back workout(rows and pulldowns) is affected by doing deads the day before or vice versa? Nice work and extra bonus-injury free.

I don't know.... deads effect fatigue for the next day (or however long it takes to recover) in my lower back. even though deads work everything, the rest of me can recover pretty well by the next day.

so...pendlays the day after rows are affected. pulldowns or low rows, not so much.

it might be different if I were stronger or maybe even farther into the 5's. everything's relative....

my squat form is improved (in my opinion). I'm going to post up a video on Friday, let me know what you guys think

missed workouts yesterday and just had time for a few squats today. we got a good rain here; first good rain since I bought my current house. not exactly happy w/ the way the yard drains. so I've dug a few hundred feet of shallow trench and laid in a few french drains.
 
Digging ditches and laying french drains sound like a nice workout replacement!

You're making great progress, FF. Looking forward to the squat video on Friday.
 
I'm still fat Colby! weighing the same, 229. my capacity for work is decent. I ran a mile today in 5:30 (treadmill) after which my heart rate was @ 165bpm &amp; it recovered to 109bpm in 1:15.

just can't get ahold of a consistent caloric restriction. I do pretty good pre-making meals and carrying around decent foods...but I can't resist temptation

I work in an office w/ a bunch of women who bake. and I'm an elementary education major, w/ 69 people in my class; 3 are guys. seems like I'm surrounded by women who are constantly offering brownies. not to mention my mom and wife!

as icing on the cake (literally), this past month I've been clearing some downed branches, shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, just small stuff for an elderly neighbor. it's not so chivalrous as all that; she was very good friends w/ my late grandmother. at any rate, she brought over a strawberry layer cake last evening and threw in some girl scout cookies to boot!
