I have no idea what the weight capacity is...it doesn't come w/ any guarantees. and the holes for the safety bars look like they're pretty far apart...

wish that I would've offered $50 instead of $75. but, oh well. gives me an excuse to pick up a few extra plates and put together a lifting platform.

OH Press 1x5x135, 145, 1x4x155
Push Press 5x3x165 (slight push)
Lat Pulldown 4x10x115
Low Row 5x5x190
Chins 1x5xbw

Great that you have a rack now. Good price too. The only thing I don't like the look of are the two short round poles sticking up from the square-section tube at floor level. If you ever fell on one of those... well, you wouldn't want to. Unless they serve some kind of purpose that I'm not understanding, I would grind them off ASAP.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe they are there to hold plates when you aren't using them or something? I agree though, you'd probably want to get rid of them. Other than that, the rack looks solid - congrats on the buy. I also bought my power rack used off of ebay - it was one of the best purchases of my entire life.

Nice lookin' rack! And at a good price, too.

But those little poles make it look like it once may have belonged to Vlad the Impaler...

I may cut those off, I plan to face those towards the wall and step into the rack from the front...so maybe I can put some plates on the posts...not sure how it will work out yet.

took a couple front squat vids today.

1x5x195

1x5x215

Front Squats 1x5x185, 195, 215
BB Bent Row 5x5x185
BB Bench 1x5x185, 205, 215
Preacher Curl 5x10x85

no problems w/ the wrists at all. I felt some trouble leaning forward, esp w/ the last set. the slip on shoes probably didn't help w/ that.

still not 100% on the form, but front squat form is much improved and MUCH better than my clean form.

Those front squats look pretty darn good to me FF. You made the 215 x 5 look easy as pie. Looks like you'll be handling a fair bit more weight soon enough.

BB Bench 1x1x215, 235, 1x2x250, 1x1x270 (5# PR), 1x5x255

the 255 set was actually 5 singles, as the m time between reps was ~ 5 mins.

Squats 1x5x225, 255, 275, 1x1x315, 1x0x325
Power Cleans 2x5x135, 1x5x155, 2x5x175, (tried 205 5x and succeeded once)
OHP 2x5x135, 2x4x155, 1x2x165
Push Press 1x5x175, 1x0x205 (actually tried it three times and failed each attempt)
Face Pulls 3x10x100
Lat Pulldowns 1x10x145, 135, 135

trying to clean up my form w/ power cleans and catch in the full squat position (as opposed to the nearly standing up position). so...I did a full front squat after each catch. helped w/ learning the form & exhausted me.

I think that I could've gotten 325 but I paused in the hole. also before I squatted, I'd just finished running a mile on the tread which I think may have taken some wind out of the sails.

Firstly, BIG CONGRATS on the PR back on 3/8! A 270# bench press is fantastic!

Second - WHAT A WORKOUT TODAY! You did a ton of work with very fatiguing exercises in a single session. Very impressive, FF!

WOW, I can see why you're exhausted. You sure are tossing around some impressive numbers. Nice work on the 270 bench, awesome!

Deads 1x5x315, 1x1x405, 1x1x420 (5# PR), 1x0x420, 3x0x405, 4x5x315
BB Bench 1x5x205, 215, 225, 235 (clustered 235 3+2), 1x1x245, 255
Low Row 5x5x190
Chins 1x2xbw
Lat Pulldowns 1x10x135

I think the deads fatigued my back, because I could not get anything on the chins or pulldowns at all.

thanks for the comments on the bench bax & tim. I did the 270 at home w/ out the benefit of a rack or a spotter. so...maybe in a couple months I can press 280 or so.

but, I'll take much greater satisfaction if I can manage to squat bigger numbers. much moreso than the bench.

Nice PR on the deads. 420 is quite an accomplishment.

Any idea when that rack will be coming in? You'll be able to push a lot more on the squats, bench and etc once you get the rack. Also, you may want to try out some rack pulls then too.

I'm looking forward to working in a rack. rack pulls are a definite. plan to place the pins below the knees as described by Rippetoe in conjunction w/ his "Haltings". reading the site doesn't make me a crossfitter!

my current motivation is this:
close friend of mine (younger, bigger *but shorter*, and has lifted longer) is bench/squat/deadlifting at 315/350/405 and he's getting married early in the summer, plus has to work 80 hrs + all spring. so...I am going to working as hard as possible. maybe he'll come down a bit and I'll make some progress, but if I could beat his totals (even for a brief time) than I'd be on cloud nine.

having recognized the opportunity, I've bulked up to a whopping 234 and improved my #'s to 270/320/420. he knows I'm coming after him and he's got a good lead, but maybe I can make up some ground.

edit: double post.

oh and btw, the seller said they shipped today. can't find the tracking #'s on UPS' site, but I assume that's because they're not in the system yet.
