Is whey really needed?

That is, Whey + Creatine increased the most but Whey still increased more then Placebo group although they don't mention values.</div>
What they mean by that,  is that the whey and whey+creatine group had a significant change from baseline, where as the placebo group had none.

The Whey+Creatine group was significantly different at the 6week mark over the Whey and Placebo.  Because the trial duration was set to predominantly show a benefit for whey+creatine.

or at least thats the way the paper describes it, rather than the abstract of this document, or their origonal presentation of the data.

Presentation
The W group had a significantly greater increase in lean mass (+2.3 kg) and ILP (+18 J/s) than the P group (p&lt;0.05).
