Pictures everyone?

outdoor lighting sucks. Unless you are really tan or IFBB freaky.
I took some pics with outdoor lighting and I just looked white everywhere, it didn't show hardly anything.
Your pic isn't bad, since you are really cut. But the outdoor lighting makes almost everyone look worse. You are a brave man!

Thanks, Sci.

IMHO, there's no point posting pics that are completely doctored up...using lighting to hide flaws, or using trick lighting to make you look better than you are. In the end, you're only fooling yourself.

I've tried many times to take "regular" pics indoors, but I have found that only with outside lighting do you really get the unvarnished truth about where you are with your progress....especially when it comes to the midsection.

i think outdoor lighting is the best for progress eval and getting "true" idea of your look, shape, leaness etc. due to many of the reasons givin above. personally i dont go around my house much with my shirt off much but i do yard work, go to the beach, cut the grass, pool etc outdoors with my shirt off so i prefer to know how i look "in the sun". sci is right about the tan but then again most of us are still pretty white in may.

all that being said, there is nothing wrong with trying some indoor "best foot forward" type of pics as well. if you feel your in top shape (especially leanwise) and want some pics that really show it off indoor lighting can make quite a diff. nothing wrong with that, as long as you remember its just a lighting trick.

anyway, nice work slapshotz.

Jeezum crow, I find that hard to believe, Sci...I saw your older pics, and there's some really good musculature there, and probably much more to follow after your vitamins are done. I'll look like a toothpick next to you!

Oh, definitely...just ask actors/actresses/supermodels, etc. how important lighting is. It can make or break you, that's for sure, and nothing wrong with using lighting to accentuate the positives.

Looking nice and thick buddy, but with teh loads you posting lately I figured you would.

Well on your way to becoming one of the HST "monsters" soon

Thanks, Fausto! Don't think I'll ever be a monster, though...my bulking days are O-ver, despite Q's constant prodding

It was just so dammed hard for me to get ripped, the thought of having to do it again makes me ill!

Here's a little comparison between @January 2006 to now. I'm about 20 pounds lighter in the second pic, if u can believe it.

I learned from my good friend Q that real change takes time, patience & dedication! What's really scary is that I also had a tan and better lighting in the first picture...UGH!!!!

Looking good mate. We are similar builds, I am 5'9 but the LBM is very similar except I have 20ish % BF

and you are stronger.
Gives me something to aim for though.

Looking good Paul.

The quads are there and the upper body just needs a little extra, you will look super in no time.

Thanks everyone. The weights have to live outside because there is no room in the house. I do have a lid for them that is not in the photos, so they are protected somewhat. Some day I will build a Shed/weight room so that I can train rain or shine. Until then I have to play the weather.

Looking forward to another workout tomorrow morning... weather permitting. I'll post the results in my journal thread.

Happy lifting!
Paul

Here is a blurry picture of my arm I took a few weeks back. You can see what I mean about triceps lagging way behind - which I suspect is why I suck at benching (but I excel at dipping, so maybe that doesn't make sense after all...)

Upper arm measures 15 1/2 inches here. Paltry compared to all you guys with 16-17 inchers here.
