Browners New Powerlifting Log

Deadlifts
240 x1 @7
220 x3x2 @7
200 x5x2 @6

Deadlift form felt all off. All that sub maximal stuff made my deadlift so sloppy!

CGBP
110 x5x5 @6-7

Leg Press
250 x12 x3

Lat pull down
77 x18, x16 x14 (45 sec rest intervals)

Lasts nights session felt tight, lethargic and tired. A few life stresses outside the gym playing apart in recovery, plus broken sleep every night due to a 10 month old with sleep regression and a 3 year old who thinks its fun to wake us up at 4:00am every morning :(

Anyway

Squats:
205 x1 @7.5
182.5 x3 @7 - But reps were cut a bit high
170 x3x3 @6
150 x5x2 @5

Comp Bench
152.5 x1@8
135 x3x4 @7-9

Walking lunges
20kg DBs x 15m x3

Pulldown
77x12x5

Probably going to knock back on the volume a bit to help recovery

haha....

"this is not a template... this is lots of potential nuanced changes!" - That line had me in stitches

I get the feeling that Jordan’s endless remarks about how he thinks ‘nuanced’ is a meme he created grates on a few members of the online coaching community.

And also that the only reason that BBM has it's current relevance is due to Alan Thrall (who’s awesome obviously).

I know Chad and Jordan have had a few ‘professional disagreements” before on podcasts together, particularly over squat technique and the SS method back in the day when Jordan was team rippetoe

Heard that one, good value.

Your sumo is a lot like Cailer Woolam’s - i.e. basically a wide-stance conventional. Looked a bit naturally stronger than the conventional to me, considering the lack of neural training. Thoughts on running it out?

Hmm..... not sure. It was only 250 and it felt quite heavy. I’ll have a think

But you haven’t trained it for a while, so basically muscling it up.

I’d give it some attention just to see how it works. Conventional drives sumo anyway.
I’ll have a think about it. Deadlift bar plays a big part in sumo for me too.
