Cutting with HST

Yeah there is just no way that is possible. Clearly some kind of body image problem, but obviously we'll never know since pics will never be posted for objective review.

This thread dead? I've been trying to cut ad well for the last couple of months....and I'm not getting anywhere!!
Dropped my intake to about 2500cal in the beginning, taking away 100 extra calories a week...currently at 1500 or so. And maintaining.
I think I basically just slowly lowered my metabolism!! Never had this before....
Might have to try rapid weight loss. :S

@wungun,

Are you still doing CBL?
What is your current weight?
How many workout days?
How much are you trying to lose per week?
Are you doing cardio?

CBL on workout days and off days except weekends. Thursday is a refeed day.
My weight has been yoyoing from 170 to 165ish. Haven't broke under 165.
Doing 10's every other day (3 times), some isolation work every other off day and light cardio on the OTHER off days.
Trying to lose 1lbs a week....will probably up that to 2lbs seeing as I'm falling behind!

Here is the last 8 weeks or so....
Looks like weekends are the setbacks.
But I usually workout on Saturdays and for the most part, stick to the diet.
Weekends are more sedatary however...

That's only body weight multipliers of between 8.8 - 9.1 which I feel is extremely low (certainly without losing weight) I personally have found minimum weight loss at those multiples was 1.5 lbs per week up to 4 lbs - cannot see how you can reduce calorie intake much more to lose 2 lbs per week suppose you could up the cardio significantly.

Have you tried upping the calories for a couple of weeks to reset metabolism?

I'm targeting 1lbs currently. Obviously an adjust needs to be made to up it to 2lbs.
Maybe a reset is in order. And I plan on adding some HIIT when the weather gets nicer.
My meto must be WAY out of wack! Canadian winter will do that to ya. Lol. I think a cardio boost instead of a calorie reset or a combination of both for a reset.
I should do a reset and try RFL instead... My metabolism seems to adapt faster to my gradual calorie drop instead of increasing fat burning.

So you started at 170 lbs eight weeks ago and have only lost 2.5 lbs? You do seem to have a problem!!!

That's not 100% accurate. I was closer to 180 around thanks giving /Xmas/new years from bulking, but it was a lot of fat as getting sick a couple of times slowed my workouts.
But yeah, that's my last 7 or 8 weeks right there^
Ugh

Sorry another question - 1500 calories is that a nett figure after deducting any calories burned during cardio etc or is the nett figure even lower?

At first I was taking into consideration the workouts (so I was actually consuming more caloriez) but the last 4 weeks I stopped doing that. 1500 is total daily calories.

What are your current macros? Are you taking in too many carbs and not enough protein (you should be getting between 170 - 255 g per day on a cut)

I am surprised that you are not losing / struggling to lose weight @ 1500 before any cardio based on the fact you were struggling at times to put weight on at over 3000 (if memory serves me correctly) - I am currently slowly losing weight (circa 0.5 lbs per week) @ body weight in lbs x 16 (just under 3000 calories) - I am finding this method (multiples of body weight) a good way to assess how many calories per day is required to lose / maintain or gain weight.

Yeah, struggled to add weight last year. That was nice :)
I'll do a cardio boost/calorie boost for a couple weeks away from CBL...

Wungun.

As you know I'm having trouble losing weight. I dropped 1600 calories without results. I then went down to 1400 cals a day less than 50g of carbs. I think my weight did start creeping down but I felt ill in the gym and could not sustain that..

I then read an article Borge Fagerli wrote called the Biorhythm diet here http://forum.reactivetrainingsystems.com/content.php?108-The-Biorhythm-Diet

I have been doing this since last week and I took my calories back up to the 2000 a day mark. I think I have lost 1 - 2 pounds so far. I've only been sticking with it through the week days. I'm going to see how i've done after a month.

A month is too long for me....I need immediate action. Lol
That why I'm gonna do....Insanity: The Asylum on my off days. Starting today!!

At the least, I'll up my meta. And I'll be able to up my calories slightly = more carbs and protein.
I'll never again try a "bulk" in the traditional sense and I'll never do a low carb diet.
A bulk for me will keep cal the same and stop the Insanity workouts....maybe 2 weeks at a time.
I did the original Insanity videos when I first started working out and I got pretty ripped. (Never mind I shouldn't of been doing resistance and plyo shit at the same time)

If you really think you can do 2 week cycles of bulking and cutting, then read into the ABCDE diet and see why that will never work unless you use drugs.

I don't understand how you guys have so much trouble cutting. It's pretty simple. We have scientific proof in controlled conditions that people always lose weight when they eat fewer calories than their body needs to maintain weight. People who are "undereating" and not losing weight are usually cheating on their diet and just won't admit it. Or they take a day or two off from the diet every week and eat enough on those days to make their net weekly calories equal or greater to their maintenance requirements for the entire week.

Cutting successfully requires just a few things:
1. Lift weights a few times a week
2. Eat less than maintenance every day
3. Wait for several months until you are at the correct weight

Stop looking for a quick fix and put in the required time, while filling the requirements of 1 and 2.
