SCI's HST cycle

30 pendlay rows- 145
15 bench presses- 155
15 dips= bw
30 standing presses- 100

I split bench and dips due to my routine change.
Bench is going really well, I have fine-tuned my form and hopefully will continue to gain strength throughout the cycle. I found as a raw bencher, I get more power by using a medium-width grip (ring-fingers on rings, which for a guy with my long arms is medium). Too wide and I have trouble coming off the chest, too narrow and my pecs can't get involved as much.

Ok. I knew you were against it so i was a little confused when I read the post. But of course opinions can change. I myself have considered it from time to time and am no longer 100% sure I will stay clean for the rest of my life. We will see.
It will be interesting to follow your progress if you start this.</div>
My opinion is that Sci is a bit peeved cos he can't catch us oldies as quickly as he would like, so the low down bum is going over to the dark side for a quick boost in the hope that he can claw his way past us.

Just kidding.

I too will be really interested to see how his progress works out with the old amber nectar. Several guys I know who have done cycles of AAS have had spectacular results. HST and AAS should be an even better combo.

Hey Sci, I'm tryin to figure out the entire clustered rep scenario... do you stop if you get to 10 reps in a single set? I noticed on your first day that you never went past that. Also, are you doing Max-Stim for these? Sorry if you already went over these I didn't have much time to read through the entire thread.

I got a killer sinus infection last week, but I am now fully recovered so I will 'redo' week 3s loads and continue from their. Since I haven't workout out in 7 days, I just did 15 reps and did all my exercises. I will resume 30 reps and alternating as per my normal cycle on wednesday.
I started my vitamins today too....

It sucks living in the country, not too many vitamin stores and the markup is outrageous.

Deadlifts 265x15
Chins BWx15
Dips BWx15
Rows 145x15
Bench 155x15
Standing Press 100x15

Deadlifts 265x2....not going to happen. I started my own business and have been doing some hard labor the past few days on a large job I landed. My grip, lower back and legs are shot. 265 felt like 315. ugh.

Chins- BWx30

Bench- 155x30

A couple of things....

Wow...I didn't know you were starting your own business that soon! GREAT news...I wish you much success and you should be proud of making a decision that going to change the rest of your life.

I am a financial advisor..so bare with me for a minute...but 85% of america most wealthy are self employed! So good job!

Now back to the thread at hand....its good news the vitamins have come in....Im really looking forward to seeing what these FlintStones Vitamins do for you...I am guessing the weights will start to feel very light in about 2 more weeks!

Thanks, Joe. I am up on finance also. This is the greatest decision I have ever made finacially, second to buying my house last year in a market that continues to soar.
Yeah, the vitamins (ok, not really, it is testosterone enanthate injections!) I am using take awhile to work, experienced guys usually don't see gains until 4-5 weeks, but since this is my first cycle, my body will probably respond earlier to it.
My blood levels should be pretty high in a few days, and by next week I am hoping the effects start to manifest.

New modification...lately I am more interested in big shoulders than ever before.
So I am adding barbell shrugs and Dumbell upright rows to my arsenal.

Workout A
Deadlifts
Neutral grip chin-ups
Bench Press
DB Upright Rows

Workout B
Power Shrugs
Pendlay Rows
Dips
Standing Press

Obviously my emphasis is on the back/shoulder area. I want big pecs, lats, delts, traps.
Arms/legs wil grow on this routine too, but not so concerned about it.

5/6/07

All sets done max-stim style. Into week 4, the weights are getting heavy now (74% of 1rm).

Deadlifts- 270x30 -this was definitely the hardest set I have ever done in my life.  (8100 lb.s of workload in about 15 minutes).  The worst part is the weights only get heavier from here!
wow.gif

Neutral-grip chins- BWx30  I was so glad to get deadlifts and chins over with, I used a ton of chalk to get through these cause my grip kept getting sweaty.

bench press- 160x30 -easy, my bench strength is definitely improving.

DB upright rows- 40sx30 -again, fairly easy, got a good pump in my biceps and deltoids.

My weight is up to 208 lb.s!  I feel kind of fat, but my strength and muscle size is better than ever, so of course I will continue bulking.  I can still seem my obliques, so I am not too flabby yet.

Wow, you actually outweigh me now, since I lost these 9 lbs. in the last 3 weeks! But check my log; I'm back in the game it seems. Work really tears ya down, so I feel you on that; it looks like you've come back too.
I found out that &quot;grip tape&quot; is just electrician's friction tape! I put it on my BBell and it almost GLUES your hands to the bar! My old tape that was on it (from when I bought it) was slick from use. I still haven't tried chalk yet, but don't want the mess in my hut either.
Those deads must have killed you! Dang, man!

Well, it sounds like you are cutting up while I am bulking up. Maybe similar weights, but you are definitely in much better shape than me. Your strength is higher and probably your stats too. My arms are 16&quot; right now, while my waist is a whopping 36&quot;! So I am not a lean 208 in the least! I don't care though, this cycle I am after size above all else. I am not stopping until I am 220+. It seems most guys who are big, had to go through a bulking/get fat stage to get enough lean mass on their frame, and then cut down. Slow bulking, trying to gain only LBM just doesn't work very well for me.
I am hoping the test kicks in soon to help partitioning, I really don't want my waist getting much bigger if I can help it!

No, I'm not cutting; just going through some tough stages in work, after a couple of weeks at 72 hours each, very physical, which is why I lost the 9 lbs. I'm watching your log closely since you're doing the two things I'd like to do myself. Right now, I'm just doing whatever I can get in to maintain mass as I can. Diet is maintenance. I'm not working out often enough to dare cut or bulk. (every 4-5 days.)
With the new business, try and watch your stress levels; keep a nonchalant attitude, or you'll suffer in the gym. Stress is a strength killer.

so, with max stim you do a rep, then rest for a second, then do another rep, right?.....and you are doing 30 of those @ 74% of your 1rm max

There is no way in hell I could do that, especially on any compound lift. That is some hard ****.
