Hello i am a new member i just signed up today but i have been reading about HST for a month and a half now and after establishing my RM's im well into the end of the first 15RM 2 week Block. I turned 22, 2 days ago and i weigh 69kg, 172 cm with about 13-14% bodyfat last time i checked. im really happy with HST im really getting harder and feel better and more energetic 2nd week in already and ive been training weights properly about 4 years now and HST is by far looking the most promising program. I consider myself just below an expert in nutrition my diet is balanced and frequent and i have a metabolism that will respond very well to caloric changes and im one of those really anal guys who measures and weighes all my food. i'm also a 3rd year graduate student in neuropharmacology and psychology and training the human body, mind and brain is what i love and live for. HST has offered me a great opportunity to take my training that extra step and i hope i can give something back.

thanks

I have a Bachelors degree in physical education, and I will start the Masters degree too. I love training, and spend lots of time reading about it a day (and training of course). So I am really happy with my choice of education.

For the time I work as Fitness instructor, and soon I will be a personal trainer. Maybe I'll get a job as a physical educator, and when I get the Masters degree I can be a physical educator in college. Time will show.

Biologist in a previous life, then patent agent. Just graduated law school and passed my state's bar (yeah!) I can call myself an attorney on November 9.

Glad to be here, looking forward to learning a lot! Z

I'm a removal and redistribution specialist.

I break into houses, steal stuff, and fence it.

Not really, just thought it would be funny to put that.

I'm a paramedic and teacher.

I'm a systems administrator for a small civil engineering firm. I manage all the computers and the phone system and I'm the lucky guy who gets to answer user questions all day long.

I am a Family Physician- I work at a rural community health center near Tucson. If I'm going to talk with my patients about diet and exercise, I have to do it also!

That's awesome. Around here, I'm the one who has to educate the physicians about nutrition. They all seem to have forgotten endocrinology lessons from medical school. After a few angry bouts in the ED when I bring in their diabetic patients who have not been properly educated most of them catch on and do better. My own doc thought that my ideas were nuts. Then she saw my results and lab test improvements and now she's even on board doing it herself.

I think it's most excellent when a physician leads by example rather than just saying, "eat right and exercise" without giving more information than that. Thank you for doing the right thing.

Now I pass on to you a mission if you should choose to accept it. Get the other physicians in your area to do the same.

thanks! What are some of your ideas that the docs don't agree with? I've had some arguments about needing good fats, but most people are on-board about more Omega-3's now. The problem is finding decent information about diet, etc.

Middle age guy...just curious whats your opinion of Chiropractors?

I know a lot of the medical field doesn't support them.

However more athletic doctors and sports med seem to be all for them?

I have a good friend who is a chiropracter, who seems to help some patients a lot (including my wife and older daughter!). I think that they can be helpful for back problems- where I part company with them is when they claim that all disease is due to spinal misalignment, and that they can treat diabetes or hypertension with spinal manipulation. Many chiropracters, by the way, agree with this. There haven't been a lot of good studies of chiropractic treatment that I know of, but some do show that manipulation is at least as good for back pain as conventional treatments (which aren't very good anyway!) They claim, and rightfully so, that they at least do little harm compared to many conventional treatments, such as back surgery. I guess the bottom line is that if it helps you, go for it.

Chiropractic has helped my back big time....I sit in front of computer a lot. However when I leave the chiropractor I feel great...but 3 days later I am right back tight.

It works great....just unfortunaly it doesnt work long...and its not cheap either...if you know what I mean.

Joe, you have to do those ball stretches I was telling you about. That is the easiest way to prevent your ribs and spine from reverting back to their original formation.

Hi im new. Im always trying to research the things I am interested in and I been noticing things weight lifting related all people try to do is fill you up with facts that dont work just to push a product on you. So hard to believe what sites/people tell you in that sense. Glad I found this site, I'm going to start HST asap.

Anyways, it seems like theres an interesting group here. I want some opinions on something, maybe your guys experience can enlighten me. Do you guys think I can get a good career without going to college? I'm 19 not going to school for personal reasons. I always try to educate myself because I know what I need to learn. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!
