    What is the major disadvantage in a bulking cycle of eating more fatty foods/'unclean' foods? Is it just more fat gain or does this hurt your chances of gaining more lean mass too?(provided you get enough protein in your 'dirty' bulk)

    Apple pie is probably loaded with glucose anyways, right? At least it has a lot of sucrose which would probably get hydrolyzed in your stomach to glucose and fructose.

    Chiefhog, I'm 6'4 176 right now :) I had it up to 185 last summer but school dropped me down to 168 in the winter. I've gained 8 lbs in three months (which is good for me!). Keep at it and I will too.

    I read a while back that if you're having trouble getting sufficient calories you can just add a few tablespoons of olive oil per day to your diet. Has anyone tried this? Will I end up getting too much fat? How can I implement it (i.e. make it taste good). Thanks.

    Thanks everyone, I'll try just eating a lot of tuna and peanut butter (I can afford that). As for the smell in protein, I thought I heard someone mention cassein as being the bad stuff. Anyone else here that, or can clarify?
